Lash Stevenson has been cutting hair since the age of thirteen; first for family and friends, then traveling to local college campuses where his services were much sought after. After a stint in the Navy and an early career as a salesman, Lash settled in San Mateo opening Lash's Place in 1976. His specialty is the Markham hair cutting technique that originated in Hollywood and that strives for a consistent cut.

Ann Murphy, a bona fide local, is a graduate of local schools and makes her home, yes, locally. An award winning stylist, she has has been working with Lash for many years. Hers is a dedicated clientele, some having been with her for more than 20 years! You don't change a good thing.
